Each species description includes:
status, distribution, habitat, nesting and behavior;
a full color map showing the bird's breeding range in relation to province's natural regions, the distribution of species, and Man'
species-specific peculiarities, protective legislation, and changes in range limits.
The volume also provides and extensive bibliography, index, glossary and guide to identification. Notes on migrants, accidentals and milestones in Alberta ornithology will be of interest to the advanced birder. Alberta's natural regions are defined and described by means of land, climate and vegetation profiles.
